Tasted blind. Clear, bright yellow. The nose is clean, with aromas of tart but ripe lemon, golden apple and canned pineapple. The palate is dry and consistent with the nose, but with an interesting creamy, doughy and smoky note (I mistook this for some oak aging, but in fact it relates to some aging on the lees). The acidity is medium (+) and the alcohol is medium at 13%. Very difficult to identify the climate, the Old World provenance and the varietal. It is well balanced and quite pleasant and reveals talented winemaking in a modern style. Worth seeking out.
