60% Grenache (60-year-old vines) and 40% Carignan (80-year-old vines) aged 12 months in tank, foudre and used barrels. Decanted and showing light sediment. Aromas of moderate intensity show a mix of fig, dried blueberry and dried raspberry meld with rocky and slate notes, sous bois, earth, desecrated violet, mushroom, black tea and garrigues. The palate shows resolved slightly chewy tannins and above moderate acidity and mid-palate density. Flavors show a mix dried blueberry, fig, plum and dried cherry along with rock, earth, savory herb and tea notes that last through savory finish. Drink up. I don't see much room for upside with further storage

This bottle had the effervescent and totally detracted from what would have been a decent bottle. Totally unlike the prior bottle. It is obvious that there were some quality issues relative to the bottling that causes this issue. Hard to return a bottle after 5 years after purchasing from the internet from WL. One bottle left from this vintage. I’ll roll the dice and see which version comes up.

Very good red with rich, dark fruit, minerality, and spice notes. Moderate tannins. Still drinking well but likely at its peak - drink up soon.
