  • From 375ml, under screwcap.

Slight signs of petrol on the nose, but driven by a mineral edge with white flowers and Apple and pears... Very clean, medium bodied Riesling. Has settled a bit since I last had it 2 years ago, but was wonderful both times. Dry and worked perfectly with an ahi tuna bowl.

  • From 375ml, under screwcap. Light in color, and had a slight pop when I opened it. A little too cold when I first opened it, so nose was a bit muted. Once it opened up shows signs of d’anjou pear, nectarine and just a hint of a floral edge. This wine is also aggressively mineral on the nose, like fresh rain on concrete.

On the palate, mineral edge is strong on this wine. Dry with a Medium plus body, with medium acidity. A little heavier than I like my Riesling, but not bad. More orchard fruit as well, pears and ripe apples. This wine shows zero signs of botrytis, very clean. As it sits it really starts to come out of its shell; may be worth decanting this... Medium length finish.

  • Flight 7, Niederösterreich I - Riesling, Wine 7 (non-blind): The wine was light yellow-green in colour. The nose was rather closed, but opened-up slowly in the glass, with grapy notes, white stone fruit, some slate and a mild spiciness. On the palate the wine showed peach, apricot, apple, lime and a spicy finish, paired with medium-plus acidity and incredible length. A young, medium-bodied, balanced Riesling that should be long-lived. 90 points for the time being, with good potential to further improve.
