A private lunch (Restaurant La Côte Saint-Jacques ***, Joigny, France): From a rarely seen lieu-dit just below Les Sentiers, between les Bussières and Les Fremières. This wine is certainly worthy of our attention; it is in fact incredibly seductive, elegant and supple, with crushed red fruit, hints of smoke and spice, a texture of pure silk, ripe acidity, refreshing minerality, perfect hint of tannic grip, good length. Chambolle and 2011 at their most beguiling.
