  Opened for a blind under $25 night, got top votes. Age has been a friend to this wine. Dark with purple tones, balanced, mildly earthy and even a faint amount of licorice.

  A lovely PS with big flowery fruit and smooth mouth and finish. Some nice elegant tannin on the finish. Acicity was nice and in balance. First Spellbound wine I have had but based on this wine it will not be the last.

  It was smooth. It was silky. It was getting just a bit jammy on the finish. It was mostly a mouthful of oak. As inexpensive as this was, there are even less expensive wines which will give you the same mouthful of oak.
  
  If you want to explore the characteristics of a Petite Syrah this will not give it to you at this point.

  The surprise of the night and quite popular with several of our friends: silky with strong fruit flavors, but not much of a finish.
