The 2012 Veramonte Red Blend is a "Good" wine (80-85), according to any widely used scale. If this wine is held on the tongue for a moment, it has one of the best finishes of any I've tasted at $9. Unfortunately, what precedes that finish isn't as interesting. Though, "interesting" has been the common response from others tasting this blend at my gatherings.

45/25/20/7/3 Cab/Merlot/Carmenere/Syrah/Cab Franc, co-fermented. Nose shows medium plus intensity of pepper, blackberry, menthol, coffee. Palate shows more layers of dark fruit with earth, black plum, sour blackberry, menthol again, euclyptus, coffee. Dies out on the finish fairly quick, but for the price what a deal. QPR.

First of 7 bottles from WHWC. Flabby, possibly cooked. Cork in OK shape and no smell of sherry. We'll see how the rest of these show.

Wonderful PQ ratio. Ripe fruit in finish with good depth and concentration. Great value for $8.99 and I have ordered a case!
