  • Color still surprisingly untouched by aging notes; on the nose it still has a certain freshness (smells younger than its age); nice acidity of red fruit (red currants?) paired with well integrated tannins.
Good mouthfeel: There is good weight on the middle palate, the wine had rounded out and finishes well with lots of youthful sensations.
This wine has gotten consistently better with age and looks like it will live for at least another 5 years. I like it.

  • Dark Burgundy color; just browning a tad at them rim.
Good bouquet volume and intensity with a bit of sharpness which I seem to remember from this wine and which I was looking for to offset the acidity of the tomato/eggplant stew served with oven baked lamb ribs..
Good weight on the palate; with exposure to air the wine gains heft and volume and softens.
Bottle age has been good to this wine; now: alas this is my second last bottle..
Retasted on day 3 from a half bottle decanted off the original: If anything the wine has further improved, gaining more stature and additional depth and breadth. A very positive surprise

  • Tasted alongside the 2012 Bergström Winery Block; This one: Bright red, no signs of bricking; feminine, perfumed, round and attractive nose which needs to be coaxed out.
On the palate the wine is seamless, soft, with everything well integrated. Maybe a bit too polished with a bit of "there" lacking?
i am noticing that many of the other tasting notes on this wine underline the wine's acidity.
In this bottle it barely registers., only raises its head after the wine has been open for about half an hour...Also the fruit has become pretty much integrated in the whole of the wine.

  • Part of the 10 deep Oregon PN tasting at our house..
Compared to the Beaux Freres this one had a more spicy nose and on the palate came across as more earthy and more "angular". Good acidity/tannin balance.
A bit more austere (in a good way); finishes a bit more acidic and less complete than the Beaux Freres wine tasted alongside.

  • Moderate color. Deep, rich, but racy nose. Tart with lots of acidity that gives a long finish. Red stone fruit dominates. Subtle complexity in flavour and finish. But very appealing.
