  First bottle from the case, some 5 years after purchasing it. I must have too much wine, or maybe I'm not drinking enough. Anyway, waiting was well worth it. Wine is drinking superbly right now. Very pleasant red fruit aromas, with strong savory notes. Rich palate, still has a lot of fruit, with a fresh, fairly lively mouthfeel. Seemed to slip down effortlessly, all the way to the end of the bottle.

  Purchased off of a restaurant wine list and consumed with seared ahi, this medium ruby Pinot showed itself to be an excellent "food wine." Bright and focused, it has nice aromas and flavors of Bing cherries, cola, lavender and clove. Light bodied, freshly acidic, softly tannic and with seamless alcohol (listed as 13%), it is a delight to drink. The middle palate holds the fruit and the crisp finish is at least of medium length. No one will dispute the prowess of Vincent Girardin with white Burgundy. Given the humble pedigree of this bottle, it is time to start noticing his limited red Burgundy offerings. Drink now-2020.
