Elegant and matured bouquet of dried plums, tobacco, dried herbs and clove. Palate echoed the nose. A touch of sweet black fruits and spices filled the entire medium-bodied polished palate from entry to finish. Tannins are still somewhat chalky in the dry and lingering finish. At its peak now. Better with hearty food than on its own.

A very good wine to end a business week, be it as a pairing to a great meal, be it as a companion reading a great book, or the perfect beverage for interesting and lively discussion among friends. The Roacca does not need to shy any comparison with some of the most famous Super Tuscan. The Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot (same weighting)) are perfectly melted into the dominating Sangiovese - notes of cherries, very silky tannins, long length and a great smile on the face of every guest around the table. Lucky to have a couple of more bottles of this vintage in my cellar. Can easily rest there for another decade.

60/20/20 Sangiovese/Merlot/Cabernet. 14 months 80% new French oak. Nose shows intensity, dried red fruit, leather, baking spice. Palate is elegant, Italian in style with layered dried red fruits, tobacco, earth, but in a fresh modern structure. Long finish.

Meh. I don't get it. Very modern and in a way that I don't really see the appeal of.
