  • 3 hour decant.
There are some somewhat strange and interesting notes in the background here that it's hard to put my finger on - to be sure this isn't "plain old" Touriga Nacional - slightly sour in nose and mouth - deeper, darker, and heavier than I remember - long finish.

  • 4 hour decant. 13%. Touriga Nacional & "field blend" from the Quinta da Pellada.
After yesterday's old Pellada, we're trying this newer offering.
Clear, deep purple - tight and red in the nose - very stylish in the mouth - quite fresh, fairly lightweight - there's an elegance here, to be sure, but I think just a little more fruit wouldn't have come amiss - I guess that's down to personal taste - nice finish tailing gently into the distance.

  • Really, REALLY, realllllly good wine from Dão.
The wine is actually quite perfect. Amazing finesse and balance between structure and fruit. Spicy, mineral, floral, red fruit, all very exuberant but at the same time have a restrained aspect to them they keeps it all very civil and in order.
    Superb.
