This is actually a really good miniature mimic of some classic right bankers, there's cigar, and soot, and tart plum, and you can really feel and smell the cab franc. Reminds me on the nose of the 06 Ch Canon I had a few weeks prior. On the palate, it's soft where it should be and structured where it should be. Balanced, immediately enjoyable, with little oak and no alcohol present, this is just what $20 Bdx should be.

PnP. Borderline spoofy upon first pour but quickly morphed into a more-traditional Bordeaux style with 30 minutes of air. Dark, rich Merlot fruits with some good minerality. Not plummy or overripe. Nice structure for an early drinking wine. That said, the mid-palate and finish are lacking compared to prior vintages. I will continue to be an enthusiastic buyer of this chateau, but not rushing out to pick up more of the 2011.

Well made with good merlot fruit and hefty tannins. Definitely benefits with some air. May need a little more time in bottle. Worth getting again.
