In OCNJ with Wendy, Joe, Valerie and Patty, opened the evening with this wine, a favorite of theirs. Last bottle of my 2012s, medium chill, PnP, drank over 45 minutes.
Prior notes do this justice..."Apple, citrus, caramel, apricot on the nose. Palate had pear, honey, apples and coconut. Oak was classic California but not overwhelming (IMO). Finish was butterscotch and creme brulee."
In a really great spot right now, seems it should hold at this level for a while but not improve much. As with prior bottles, this opens over the time in glass, if possible its good to give it some air time. Great stuff.

Two bottles over two nights, Valerie and her friends first night - big hit, thought I would revisit the following night with some salmon. Chilled, PnP, drank over 90 minutes.
From prior notes.."Apple, citrus, caramel, apricot on the nose. Palate had pear, honey, apples and coconut. Oak was classic California but not overwhelming (IMO). Finish was butterscotch and creme brulee."
These bottles seemed to have settled into prime drinking zone. This one was bright yellow/gold color. Citrus, oak and spices on the nose. Orchard fruits, oak, butterscotch, minerals...some "must" on this one (good). Long and delicate finish. AO very consistent in my experience, another nice wine from Jean Hoflinger....

Dinner with Joby and Lorraine, drank with cheeses and salad. PnP with a slight chill.
Consistent with prior notes: "Apple, citrus, caramel, apricot on the nose. Palate had pear, honey, apples and coconut. Oak was classic California but not overwhelming (IMO). Finish was butterscotch and creme brulee."
Tasted this again later in the evening; it was really open and flavorful. The richness of the finish (creme brulee and butterscotch) was shining though at that point.

Still delicious, if a bit past it’s prime. Gentle butter. Nice fall treat.

Candied lemon and peach, feels sweet, but is quite dry.
