Light bodied in appearance - very light burgundy. Red fruits nose, with a little damp earth, some black fruits poking through and some liquorice; a little salty - like opening a jar of capers in brine. Silky red fruits and cherries to taste. A little blackberry too. Some sourness but overall great balance. A hint of liquorice. Just right for drinking - soft but still with a little grip. Some sweeter fruit lingers on the finish.

Hmm. Not sure about this. It's okay, has a nice watering acidity (not unlike pineapple juice) but is a bit too sweet for me. Some lovely flavours but no backbone to get too interested in it.

A lovely nose of light red fruit with tobacco and charcoal. A lovely contribution from the oak. The palate has more strawberry and bright red cherry fruit and some great minerality, but the sweetness is a little too much for my taste and it could do with a little more savoury backbone to offset it. Still, clean, bright and very nice. 89

Wow, nice suprise this. Usually i find far too much burnt rubber on S.African Pinot but this is superb. Not too ripe, lovely rose petal, floral elegance and good acidity. A little bit of herb and smoked meat character add complexity. I'll buy this again.

-- popped and poured -- -- tasted non-blind over approx. 5 hours --
NOSE: ripe red fruit (cherry); smells like a cross of RRV and Central Coast Pinot; a touch smokey; smoke note intensifies after a couple hours open.
BODY: violet-ruby color of light depth; light bodied.
TASTE: quite ripe --- a touch sweet, actually; very tight; a little oaky; red fruited --- baked red fruits; a touch bitter; 13.5% alc. not noticeable; very light flavor; medium acidity; no tannin; light finish of medium-short length; boring; maybe an off bottle? Big disappointment, considering the chorus of good things I’ve heard about this bottling. This smelled really nice, but was a huge let-down on the palate.
