Slightly different from regular Ponsot wine, could be bottle variation, or this is bottled from a different barrel? Condition is okay, but stewed and redundant fruit profile, lazy, no energy... had 1995 CSD earlier this week which was airy and ethereal. Not here. Even the acidity feels flat. Have not had young Ponsot for a while; style change? 90?
Second day: more polished and voluminous, even pure, very characteristic to the vintage. Still that heavy syrup fruit flavor is in the background, which distracts somewhat. Focused, almost profound. Verdict: should be great if not for the fruit profile. Will pop more to see. 93-94

Ponsot cork; dark crimson color; sour plum, a harder edge to this after the RSV, furry, duller sour cherry, wild strawberry, muscular with a slightly sweet edge; beefier on the palate, structured, could use some more time given the acid and tannin; delicious.

Not sure what all the mixed reviews are about. This was wonderfully integrated and layered with incredible GC texture and complexity

Surprisingly more closed and austere than a bottle a couple of years ago.
