I opened this bottle because I was getting nervous about its age and all. Turns out, this Pinot is drinking very well right now. It has just enough grip to give the wine body and the perfect balance of tart cherry fruit. I’m very pleasantly surprised. I should get myself more Pinots from this producer.

Thank god it's not cherry cola in a bottle. Much more complex, spicy flavors, a red raspberry meets smoky flint with a touch of truffle. And aging beautifully as well. Wish I had more bottles.

Travelled all the way to Lompoc months ago to call on another winery, which disappointed. The silver lining was the discovery of Flying Goat across the way. Terrific traditionally-styled pinots, dazzling sparkling wines--brought home close to a case. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Opened this pinot last night: cherry fruit with licorice notes and some attractive cool-vintage herbal complexity. Balanced and ready, but at or close to peak.
