  • This 37 year old 100% shiraz had a clean and bright color, with a wide, pale garnet rim and a pale ruby core. The nose was medium intensive and developed with mushrooms, note of licorish or anise, spices, dried fruit and still fresh red berries - cherry, raspberry.

The palate was dry (as in no RS) but still fresh and bright, soft soft tannins, almost like a whisper. Medium plus body, medium level of alcohol and acidity, just a notch below what I would describe as intense, with plenty of subtlety. Flavours of mushrooms, fresh berries this wines makes you salivate. Elegant, long, complex.

    Outstanding.

Drink now, this is not improving, but could probably last another few years.

The wine had a lot of sediment, it has evidently been recorked and was tasted immediately after being decanted.
