Served with dry aged rib eye and risotto. Big tannins on the open but evolved into quite the experience over the next few hours. Gotta find more. Has legs to go into 2030's

Ensure to give the bottle a minimum 2 hr decant, 3 hr is recommended. Deep, rich berry flavors over a mild vanilla and earthy background. Nice finish too.

Perfumed nose of blackberry jam and cassis with hints of spice and cinnamon stick. There’s a bit of creaminess across the palate from the malolactic fermentation, but otherwise the intense chalky tannins steal the show.
This is a hugely extracted wine which will require 10+ years to integrate. I think there is potential here, but it will require patience. Score will undoubtedly improve with age.
Enjoyed with bacon wrapped filets and garlicky pasta.

This rich and extracted Cabernet is like listening to the music too loud - it has rich fruit, pronounced tannins, and a load of sweetness - all of which would be enjoyable in moderatiion, but this is not that wine, at least at the moment. There is a lot here, which may integrate with time, but I wouldn't recommend drinking until 2018, at least.
On to the more traditional note: Dark red in color, full in body, nose of plum, licorice, and baking spices. Tastes of blueberry, raspberry, green pepper, and cedar, with a sweet, somewhat chalky finish. 15.7% alcohol. This opens up, a small amount, with air.
I am a huge fan of Knights Valley (e.g., Peter Michael, Berlinger), and this has some of the trademark rhubarb and licorice tastes. At the same time, this wine reminds me of a baseball hitter mid-swing: he is putting a lot into it (e.g., oak, fruit, alcohol), but it's unclear if he will hit the ball (i.e., if it will all integrate). In other words, time will tell; wait a few years, and it may still be dense oaky fruitiness (as it is now) or something more elegant. For the price, though, I had hoped for something a bit less raw, even at this early stage.

Wine had seeped past the cork. Did not open. Fortunately I bought two and the second was good.
