  • This is my third time tasting it, and I love this wine. It is luscious in the extreme. Nice golden yellow. Nose is intense and persistent, with sweet tropical fruit, subtle vanilla oakiness (I do not know if oak is used in the winemaking -- I shall inquire), and some light and lovely kerosene/petrol. On palate, also intense and persistent, with mouthwatering acidity, moderately high alcohol (13.5%) without heat, some residual sugar (less than 15 g/L). It is unusually full-bodied for a Riesling, and very long, complex, interesting. A very intelligent, thought-provoking, deeply fascinating wine. I am rating it higher than I did before; I just can't believe its beauty (for a white wine without bubbles); I marvel at every sip.

  • Tasted 2005-12-15 in a flight of 7 German Rieslings
Medium gold colour, clear, bright. Mmmm...nice combination of primary fruits and that petrol/kerosene bouquet; very intense and persistent. On the palate, also intense and persistent, long and complex; bracing acidity and the slightest hint of residual sugar; alcohol comes in at 13.5%, providing more body and weight than heat. Fine and elegant. Would drink any time as an aperitif, or at a meal with spicy food. Tied for best in the flight.
