Just purchased in retail at martignetti in Boston. There were a mixed half dozen Bottles from 99 and 01 and you could see the color variation for presumably oxidized bottles in the pile. This bottle appeared fresh and was in good condition on opening. At first it was too cold. It's deep lemon in the glass w tingles of green and the nose is all at once complex and of nothing. No more fruit. Creamy. Even lactic. On the palate it is a product of the vintage and quite rich w not quite enough acid. Nutty and some phenolic character. Finishes a bit hot at cellar temp. Finish is still solid despite the alcohol mmThis isn't dead at all and will likely last a bit but I don't know why you'd keep it at this point. Fully evolved. Smoke em if you've got em

Youthful light gold with greenish tinge. Very full nose totally dominated by almonds, with some pear and spice underneath. The distinct nuttiness carries over onto the palate-- a medium bodied, elegant but full flavored wine with nuts, pears, red apples, nice balancing acidity. Harmonious, full flavored but elegant, only the finish dissapoints some by dropping off a little quicker than expected. This village white Burg has aged nicely.

Even though this Chardonnay is 10 years old, it is excellent if a bit light

Oaky and seems vacuous.
