So I bought a cellar; 11/12/2022-12/31/2030: My second older Chateau St Jean in a week. Just a coravin glass. Deep gold. All butterscotch on the nose. Burnt caramel flavors, but a bit watered down. I don’t know anything about this wine, but I doubt it was intended to live this long. That said, 2011 was a Chardonnay year and it mostly holds up. I’ll finish this bottle.

Very interesting wine - it is non-malo but oaked. It had a pronounced buttery taste and somewhat viscous mouth-feel. The flavor was kind of subdued but then again, I have been accused of having a dense palate. Very nice wine.

Very enjoyable chardonnay. Good fruit, just enough oak, smooth. Drink now.
