Ruby in the decanter with some bricking at the glass edge. Initially chalk, followed by a repeated go-round of leather and berries. Moderate tail. Good value. Nice.

Nose of very ripe black cherries and Provencial scents. Lovely, but subdued. Medium-full bodied and round with decent acidity and light tannin, this is a bit lacking in the mid-palate and finish, but is quite tasty on the fore-palate. More of the same as the nose. Drink soon. 88

This is the La Mitre bottling. I can't figure out how to erase this and replace. Typically flamboyant 2011 nose full of exotic fruits and spices. Pomegranate, plum and sweet black cherries, licorice as well as Asian spices. Medium-full bodied with a fair amount of tannin and decent acidity. More pomegranate on the palate. Perhaps a bit of floral accent, licorice. Somehow, I think this is drinking better than the 2010 at the moment. Never exceptional, this is nevertheless a great value in CdP. 90

This has aged really well. Definitely in the zone right now. Good depth and a bit of funkiness. Paired extremely well with roast beef.
