Community Tasting Notes (2) Avg Score: 81.3 points

  • To me, this is more than an 80 point wine. The nose upon pouring into the decanter is kind of a wet flinty steel and red raspberry. At first taste, the flavors are more of of that metallic edge to some high toned, slightly green raspberry and cherry with lots of vanilla. I'm also getting a nice hit of black pepper spice, along with a heavy influence of oak that probably did not come from barrel aging. On the down side is the annoying fact this wine falls apart rather quickly in the glass and the decanter. The finish has sandalwood, spice, and more red fruit.

  • This wine was just OK. High acidity but little depth. Drinkable but would not buy again.
