Clear bright garnet with orange rim variation representative of slight age, medium viscosity with primarily sheet like flow and fast thin tears. Nose is moderate to delicate with slight oxidative element of earth, wet white metal, and mushrooms, brown baking spices, jammy. Drying with medium + tannins, medium + acidity, medium - alcohol with limp medium body, textures of kitten biting tannins. Searching for fruits, dark red if any- spices and earths predominate. Clawing tannic structure getting in the way of all else. Still only open for an hour but the wine has a conundrum in the mouth and finish that may never be resolved. Perhaps another year or two... Ceres alone.

Bricking in the glass. Off the bat, smoky Port-like nose. Ripe plum, dark fruit and smoke. Nice complexity on the bright palate. Good depth and complexity with forest floor, damp earth and cherry. The finish is very uneven cumbersome, though.

Volnay And Surrounding Communes (Our House (2033 Brandywine St., Philadelphia)): Exotic berries on the nose. Cranberry, cola and sharp fruit. Intense with very high acidity on the palate. Lacked depth and concentration of other offerings. Sharper finish.

Volnay and its Environs (Domaine McClure Roberts): cherry cola, black fruit, some licorice. high acidity leads to a nice sharp finish. would be nice with food.
