Overall: really lovely bottle of aged brunello with some interesting characteristics. Has structure and acid to last a bit longer but overall it’s probably time to drink. Really didn’t even need a decant to start showing well - 30 minutes was plenty.
Color: very dark, opaque ruby. Some earth tones but honestly I was surprised at how red rather than brown this was.
Nose: lovely spices and dark fruit. This was a surprising profile for brunello but made for a very nice nose. Subtle earthiness present. As a half-glass sat for about an hour there was a transition to brighter red fruit on the nose, at which point the nose started to die a bit.
Palate: dark fruit is the first thing I pick up- plums, ripe grapes, blackberry. Kind of surprising for a brunello. Underneath there is leather, earth, baking spices. This is more consistent with what I would expect from a Brunello.
Finish: dry, mouthwatering, and goes on for minutes. This finish is great.

Drank from a magnum. In a perfect spot right now. Tannins we’re velvety for a wonderful mouth feel. Still plenty of structure there, though, to pair well with food. Fruit flavors were still dominating, even after 21 years. But not the cherry you typically get with young Brunello. These were black fruit flavors. Overall a really enjoyable wine.

Oldest brunello I have had and didn’t disappoint. 2 hour decant. Still with some grip left! Excellent fruits and seamless integration left me wanting more. Bought at auction and lucked out.

Amazing! After 30 min in decanter it really opened up beautifully. Love the earthy notes with herb and meaty tobacco.
