Easily seen through. Mainly garnet color Great old world nose with dried fruit, raspberry. violets and a touch of earthiness. Initial mouth feel is light and relatively thin. Then the fruit kicks in with blueberry leading followed by berries and oaky fine grained tannic bitterness which grows and then dominates. Very dry. Needs more time - years.... Will be beautiful when the tannins mellow and integrate. but for now it suffers a bit IMO. Will try decanting... A bit of aeration did miracles and brought the wine into better balance. May have to buy a couple of bottles to age.

Second bottle was much better. More balanced with nice red fruit and fine tannins. Also with some mild floral notes on the bouquet. First bottle had a strange perfume smell that was not harsh but also wasn't pleasant. My next bottle will be the decider :)

Started this wine hours before our son Dean was born and finished the following night with family when we returned from the hospital. One-dimensional wine but it is balanced and elegant. Still young. Nose and palate opened up on Day 2 with typical Gamay notes of lovely violets, black licorice, strawberries, bananas, and cloves. Drink 2017-2022.

5/10/2019 - springdrive Does not like this wine:
Blueberry, slightly meaty. Chalky, short and tart finish. Perhaps an off bottle?

Nicely balanced with good red and blue fruit, acidity, and tannins. Drank off the pop and pour with a Carribean pork sandwich.
