  • Took about an hour in the decanter for the boisterous fruit to settle down and reveal a very pretty and structured wine. Definitely has all the hallmarks of the D&G house style, and I think this wine is only shifting into second gear - lots more to come here.

  • Interesting -- agree with the previous review -- this was outstanding on the first night -- I'd put it near to a 94. But, on the 2nd night, often an even better night for other wines, it fell to about an 88 or 87. So, not clear what that means for the optimal drinking window. On the first night it outshined a classic Burgandy from the night before. But, the 2nd night was really more like a house wine that had been left out from a medium priced restaurant. A note for those curious: identical stem-ware each night.

  • What a nice wine, packed with gorgeous complexity! Alternately tangy and savory, and finishes with classy slate and iron notes. Unfortunately tasted from picnic glasses, so no nose notes yet. Update: score changed from 92 to 90 after tasting in proper glassware. There really isn't much of a nose at all, and the wine got much less interesting after the initial pop and pour. Tasty, but puzzling, and probably not a cellar-worthy acquisition at $33.
