  • (CDV)

  • Oak and spice on the nose, some sweetness of the palate which led everyone to Vosne. Which again begs the question if the spice from Vosne is a product of the winemaking or terroir 🤔 One of the more maligned producers but this showed well in the Grassl that accentuated the fruit. Good material and towards the end of its secondary phase. Drinking well now.

  • Celebrating San Fermín (Restaurant La Piperna - Madrid): May I say 'Sissy character'? I mean, it's not a real masculine wine, neither feminine. Savoury yet short. Sweet yet lean. Seriously it brings me down. Too much expectations? Possibly but at the end a regular GC, lower standard for the appellation and far away from any Charmes, Griotte even.
Needs an extra-time? Honestly don't think so. How can made a bottle like this the mayor producer of the Chapelle denomination? Something must be done. Urgently.
Vintage helps either. Devastated by this weak year in both Côtés.
Serious doubts for my last bottle. A pity. Truly disappointed.

Verdaderamente desilusionado.

  • So good. Nothin' but burg on the nose with pinot fruit, a bit of earth, a bit of oak.Dense fruit palate on the darker side. Power, depth, firmness, no heaviness. The finish is hamstrung with a note of bitterness or I'd rate a point higher.
