Dim Sum Club at Yan (Yan, National Gallery, Singapore): This a little bit on the lean side, but still enjoyable enough. It had a nice nose, slightly on the ripe side, but very attractive, with sweet red berries and cherries, a touch of rose petals, cola maybe, and then just a bit of earthy, brambly character. The palate was decent rather than great, with minty, slightly bramble flavours drifting around a core of clean, but rather lean black cherries and darker berries. The finish was decent, with a good longer of spice, cola and earth. All in all, quite pleasant, but lacking weight and authority - this has not aged as well as I hope it would. Time to drink up.

No formal note but this was an excellent 04, mature but still full of life with spice, game, earth, underlying red fruit, quite round on the palate with fine tannins and a touch of spicy richness set off by fresh acidity and no sign of a peppery green streak.. Good length, harmonious finish. Excellent

Initially seemed NZ like. Rich, sweet nose. Developed more savoury, earthy flavours. Pure. This wine soared after a few hours gaining complexity. A hint of sweetness, tutti fruity, came back on the finish. Drinking well now and over the next few years. At the moment, the peak comes after the wine has been aired a a couple of hours or a bit more.

Needs decanting, after 1 hour floral and fruit much more open. Classic burgundy which does everything well but do not expect a superstar at this price range. Nice smooth feel in mouth, short to medium finish. Not tannic and acid level is holding, should keep well for next 3 years.
