Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • This was a pleasant surprise. I had forgotten about this one, and decide to open it. Given that it cost somewhere around 15 bucks, is from 2003 and hasn't been properly stored, my hopes are not high.
But it's very good. Starts out with serious fruit, a mix of cassis and light cherries, it has a touch of green to it, but more grass and herbs than bell-pepper. Mouthwise the fruit is alive, tannins are there, but round and melted down. Fruits is very good and intertwines with a good acidity that's related to something citruslike - and there's a lovely minerality there, almost chalklike. Excellent and a bonus for giving such a pleasant surprise.
