Served at roughly 50F and it showed quite well. Floral and honey notes on the nose and weight again reminded me of a rich spatlese with perhaps a bit more on the honey side. Honey, orange, pineapple and other tropical fruits to start. Decent acidity on the back into the finish, along with some lime/lemon notes and light spices, but not as prominent as the last bottle. It felt like the acidity has started to blend into the mid-body a bit. I wish it had a touch more richness and a touch more acidity but it continues to show well with the highpoint being the very middle where the fruit was the most expressive. Should have some time at this stage, but I think as it evolves, it will lose its acidity and not sure the wine has the richness to stand without it.

From bottle. Served starting at 46F (which was too cold) and ending at 52F (which was noticeably better). Expressive floral and honey notes on the nose. More like a sweeter, richer spatlese than a true auslese. That said, really nice tropical fruit, orange and honey notes upfront with the more tart citrus notes behind. Smooth through the finish with good acidity. Very drinkable now, but based on the fruit and richness, certainly has several years ahead of it.

Tasted at the winery. Auslese style riesling with honey and light tropical fruit notes on the nose. Dryer than I expected at first (more spatlese styled) and with a richness rather than an overt sweetness. Nice mix of honey and tropical fruit flavors through the middle. Spice and mineral notes are the prevailing components of the acidity driven finish. Based on the acidity and fruit, this is certainly drinkable now, but has some room for further improvement. Overall, showed more complexity and depth than I was expecting.

Showed very well on this occasion, the acids and fruit are matching each other quite nicely. Would lean towards drinking up if I had more.

Beautiful wine. No detailed notes, but drank extremely well. No question Auslese in style, complex.
