Deep ruby red, medium intensity nose of black cherry, red currants, vanilla and cloves. Dry wine with medium tannins, high acid, high alcohol , medium intense black cherry, black plum, vanilla, clove, dried fruit and hint of Carmel. Quality-very good.

Seems we opened this at the right time. Delivers a lot for the price and another example of a good bottle from a less heralded vintage. By Napa standards not as ripe, a bit more acidic, and some green bell pepper notes added to the mix . . . . All of which are good things in our book. Everything is in balance, including the use of oak, which isn’t overdone, but adds a nice mocha note.

Medium dark ruby color with fading rim in the glass. Slightly reticent bouquet showing bell pepper, olive, cranberry and red cherry. The palate brings more dark red cherry, blueberry and earthy cassis. Medium acidity and smooth, medium tannins. Finishes a bit short, but pretty well balanced and showing some maturity. Drinking well now and should be fine for a few more years.

Light red fruit nose, with hint of earth. Tart current, red fruit with some black pepper, medium body, no tanin. Drink now.
