  • Absolutely delightful the reaction of reaction of everyone who has never had Winter before. Because one cannot get more bottles, we have been hoarding what is left, and we were wondering if we might be pushing beyond the line of when the 2010 is drinkable. But we still got the same reaction. People who are not wine drinkers have a taste, and they want more.

  • Spectacular. One of the things we always look for is how non-wine drinking guests react to tastes of the wine we serve. This Winter was an absolute hit unlike any bottle I can recall.
We do not know anything about Winter, as they had already ceased operations when we bought our bottles, so we do not know if they purchased their grapes or if Winter had its own vineyards. But if they had their own vineyards, we sure would like to know who bought them, and is currently making wine from them.

  • Big juicy blackberries flow effortlessly out of glass, giving a sultry mouthful of bliss on a rainy Christmas Day. Went great with hickory and mesquite smoked prime rib dinner.

  • Deep inky red to the rim. Sweet cassis and blackberries on the nose with some oaky vanilla in the background. Fruit forward with rich black fruit, juicy acidity, faint dried herbs that rise on the midpalate as it airs in the glass. After beingopen an hour, more subtle secondary notes and the grippy tannins get a bit more integrated. Ridiculously long finish, still feeling the acidic tingle many minutes later. Drinking far younger than the 11 years would suggest. Pop and pour for a Napa Valley bomb in your mouth, decant or open and let sit an hour for a juicy treat. Could age a few years more but why wait. If you've got it, open it with something grilled or roasted.

  • Deep dark ruby color, rich dark fruits and leather on the nose layered and lingering finish, nicely integrated, a tragedy WInter is no longer.
