  • Teperberg, Reserve, Merlot 2011: In one word: WOW! This most certainly the best wine I've ever tasted from Teperberg. This wasn't the first time I tasted it (that was a year ago at the winery) but it was the first time I drank it. It has beautifully developed into one of the best Israeli Merlots I've had this year, along with the 2010 Tabor Adama Merlot and the 2011 Flam Reserve Merlot. Tasted blind this could easily be mistaken for a right bank Bordeaux wine. Very dark Bordeaux red towards royal purple hue with on the nose ripe blackberries, plums and raspberries with hints of barnyard and black truffle. Medium to full-bodied (leaning to full) with on the palate a mix of dried herbs and ribbons of black and red berry fruits followed by truffles, pencil shavings, tobacco and wet earth with hints of chocolate covered coffee beans, balanced acidity and tannins that gently rise and coat the mouth on a very long and elegant finish. Beautiful wine that is ready to drink though will likely develop further for a few years. 13% Abv.

  • Dark red with a purple hue with on the nose ripe blackberries and black plums with notes of dried raspberries, herbs and hints of animal notes. Full-bodied with lots of black and red fruit, Mediterranean herbs, green tobacco leaves, vanilla and toasted oak with very good acidity shining through and searing tannins on the very long finish.
