  • This is proper Burgundy. Nice, subtle use of oak, fruity. Some Puligny-like apple. With some more air (and roast chicken) it reminds me of a very good Mâcon, like a Puilly-Fuissé or St Véran. Some nice peach & apricot with a little honey and nut, very dry (especially on it's own) and a touch savoury. Good value - you normally have to pay £15-£25 for this quality.
Good with roast chicken (20 min decant, 13-14C): more open and more on the ripe stone fruit side.
On it's own, 40 min decant and at 11-12C and it was a touch tighter and dryer but still open enough to drink well. Nice long, dry finish with some Burgundy savoury complexity.
With a strong Westcombe cheddar: Stood up well although seems tangier.
