Surprisingly fresh and youthful. Lovely bottle with plenty of life, yet entering its sweet spot. Went very well with the duck breast on top of parsnip purée and broccoli/asparagus tips topped with a sour cherry gastrique. The nose was fairly expressive yet primary. The pallet was deeper and contained more secondary notes. 7-18-8-9

Also medium color. Like the '06 Mourre des Perdrix, this has some degree of upfront funk too. Dark fruit, very serious, again, lots of tobacco in the mouth. Strong acidity here. Better focus than the '06 pair. Could benefit from some more time.

Medium purple. medium light intense nose, blackberry, roasted meat, earth, and spice. Delicious earthy berry flavours and a very nice balanced finish.
It is nice to have a CdP of this quality that doesn't over do the ripeness or alc. Everything was in balance.
