Wine designation in CT may be off - clearly this is Superiore Ripasso...
So - nice heavy bottled, above average price wine here. I like other product from producer. Nose has nice light layers of prune/leather and dark fruit. Palate is med bodied, smooth'ish, again some stewed prune and lightly tart/sour chocolate covered cherry notes. There is a odd, faint stainless steel quality on the initial attack that stands out, fades fast and i wonder if a solid 1 hour decant may eliminate this. Is a potential detracted given the initial comments. I would hesitate to try a few more over next couple of years.
