Aromas of nettles, grass, ripe gooseberries, crushed blackcurrant leaves. Reminds me of late summer evenings in Finnish lakeside(lake Päijänne to be precise)... Has a good weight on the palate, with ripe tropical fruits. High acidity, and loads of flintyness, almost like finely grained rocks. The combination of the somewhat heavy, sweetish ripe fruit, chalky minerality and hair-raising acidity is intriguing. Long, chalky, herbal and a bit honeyed aftertaste. Should be a bit more balanced after a couple of years. But already delicious. Intense and explosive NZ sauvignon Blanc, one of the best I`ve had in a long while.

Everything is here that you typically search for in a NZ SB. Gooseberry, lime, grapefruit, cut grass, passionfruit, blackcurrant and minerality all packed into a vibrant and fresh wine with an elegant texture, acidic backbone and good length.

Clean, fresh fruit with some weight; a pleasant enough wine, but lacking any real character.

Traditional grassy gooseberry nose with a fuller depth. Pleasant acidity, nice balance with citrus finish
