Nearing the two-decade mark, this wine is still quite young. Primary aromas of cassis, blackcurrant, and fig still there. The nose is almost indistinguishable from sticking your nose in a box of Sun-Maid raisins.
Time has trimmed down the heavy body, leaving a lean core of black cherry, anise, and Coca-Cola. Enough tannin left to provide structure for years to come.
Drink now.

Decanted 2hr at 55. Still needed 20 mins in glass to come up to temp. Once there, really good nose; just not as good as first bottle. Darker fruit, medium body, nice complexity, long finish.

This one is good. Strong nose. The flavors attack your palate. I got a bit of funk and stink in the mid-palate which I liked but it faded after some air. Dark fruit. It lacks structure compared to the higher price point wines, but you can't expect so much from this price point. But it sure does out perform its peers within its price range.

A great bottle of mature Cabernet. I have two bottles left in the cellar and plan to make a point to get to them soon. A really smooth cab with cassis, oak, tannin, and black and blue fruit still present. 2003 was a challenging vintage and they did a good job with this one. Looking forward to finishing these up.

(EGELHOFF CABERNET SAUVIGNON) #1; COLOR-obnoxious purple/black; NOSE-exquisite, black cherry, asian spice, AMAZING, hints of cinammon; TASTE-very dry, extemely tannic, flavors are amazing, all sorts of black fruit, finish is still going, stunned by how much this coats the palate, tons of fruit & complexity, overwhelming stucture, amazing flavor, extremely young, drink in 5-7 years, will last for 20+ years; kills Caymus & Opus One; GV-?

Drink now. Ripe & beautiful with dark fruit on the nose, evenly balanced, very lush with beautiful finish.
