A touch of garrigue on the nose that blows off. Following that muted sandalwood, raspberry and soft cranberry washes across the palate. The wine speaks of Chinon but without the green, herbal aspects that some Chinons throw. The tannins are fully integrated. These boys are ready; drink up. An abundance of sediment. The cork is not a weeper, but wine stained one side of it from bottom to just below the top. It must have seen some temperature change prior to delivery. 12% alc. With Bailey-Hazen and Stilton as well as truffled cheeses, country ham, and crusty bread. Recommended.

Final bottle of 7, it seems that the previous was the odd man out, since this one turned out to be beautifully developed, with ripe fruit, dense and intensive, tannins somewat dry but highly present and well integrated.
It is distinct Chinon CF in character and a great expression of the terroir, as well as showing the value of a couple of years of cellaring for the development of this type of wine. 91-92p

A long time favorite and good qpr, I've had this cellared for 2,5 years and it seems like it's winding down. Sure, the bitterness, herbs and green bell pepper are all there, but the vivity that was in this vintage a year or two ago is now lacking. Good with food still but definitely time to drink up. 87-88p

A fairly equal distribution between cranberry, raspberry and sandalwood. Classicly Chinon which means this is classically Cab. Franc. The tannins are still rough. Following the fruit, herbal notes come punch through with determination; rosemary and green bell pepper. This can still benefit from more time. At this point - at least this bottle - throws only small amount of sediment. 12% alc. With bison ribeyes before I begin the fasting and cleansing for my first colonscopy. Recommended.
