D+0h: hardly any deposit in the filter, a very big chunk in the bottle, smells of raspberry D+4h: dark as ink, on the rim quite purple red, smells of smoke, eucalyptus, plum and blackberry, light body, smooth in the mouth, has some residual sugar, so is not completely dry, in the mouth blackberry, plum and a little bit of acidity, in the aftertaste blackberry, plum and acidity, good length (30 sec), a really good red for a small price

Over three nights...considering the price point $8 it has merit and value to be found. took several hours to open up even after three days. Would revisit and all need to remember the price point and align with realistic expectations.

An Eric Solomon selection. 100% Spanish Monastrell. Although only $8 purchase a bit thin but does drink above this price point. Drinking very well now if not a past its peak.

So I have had quite a bit of this as my everyday Spanish red and I am a fan of Eric Solomon. Deep red fruits in color and in taste. A bit of cherry there but certainly Old Word style; pencil shavings. Tannins still pretty prominent and this is a better second day wine. Needs food for sure, not what I would call light. Excellent value. I am neutral because I am not high on the grape at 100%. Well made.
