Fully developed. Acid is still stern, but fruit is golden toned and starting to turn baked/dedicated. Wood is fully integrated and it’s still very much old world. Richer style than anything in the Côte d’Or but still great

A rich chardonnay tempered by driven acidity and nervous energy. After 30 minutes or so of air it really comes into balance and the minerality kicks in. Delicious.

Just a lovely Chardonnay. Eight years after harvest, the acidity is still singing, there is a bunch of chalky minerality, a shade of ox and sweet lemon meringue. Difficult to find after Ganevat (not surprising) developed a cult following and prices going up, but still very much worth finding and drinking.

Vinetasters: Brown Bag (Skokie, IL): Served double blind. A somewhat more demure nose that doesn't show the most expressively. Some tropical fruit on the nose and palate. Really nice crispness and acidity, this could almost be a dry riesling. But at the end, this seems a little more green, and there is a bit of age on this, perhaps 10 years? Some nice of lime and green apple. A bit thinner but really nice acidic drive. I ended up guessing chardonnay, but couldn't come to white Burgundy. I didn't see the oxidation here, though I guess that was part of the whole thinking it was older than it actually was.

Very burgundian, more so than the 2016 tasted recently. Great depth and intensity. Seems like this could still age for a while.
