  • I opened the wine and let sit for an hour. Fruit on the nose, the palate was berries, plums, a little pepper and some licorice. The finish was moderate to long and smooth.

  • Better than the bottle we had back in January I took my own advice and decanted through a vinturi and let sit for three hours. Fruit on the nose, the palate was berries, plums, a little pepper and some licorice. The finish was moderate to long and smooth.

  • Decanted 2 hours before dinner. Beautiful nose upon opening. Dark color - no bricking. All red fruits and plums on the nose and palate The tannins were soft and integrated which made for a great mouthfeel, and a super-long finish. Could not stop drinking the wine and it did not last long! Paired very well with grilled, bacon-wrapped filet mignons! Excellent wine, that seems to be peaking now. Very glad to have three more bottles!

  • Not as good as the bottle I had a year and a half ago. Opened two hours before dinner which could have been the problem as in the past I opened 3-4 hours before. There was dark fruit on the nose. The palate was berries, plums, licorice and hints of green pepper but the flavors seemed a bit muted nothing really stood out. The finish was moderate to long. A really good bottle of wine but it was lacking something. Also we drank it alongside a 2007 Protagonist which was a better wine and perhaps overshadowed the Agharta. I was only giving in a 90 but everyone else at the table scored it higher.

  • This was an interesting take on Napa Cabernet. It showed significant aromatic richness, and the palate entry was ripe and fleshy, but then it gained focus through the mid-palate. The finish was quite clean, with balanced tannins, and no hint of over extraction or prune over ripeness. It was an interesting take on Napa, keeping one foot in the modern camp, and the other with the classics. Drink now to whenever.
