  • Another Cape Blend. Pinotage, Cabernet, Merlot. A good mix, considering my experience with other blends of this kind.
    15-18€ in Germany (21-27$).
Ruby red in the glass, slow legs, not as dark as I thought. 14% alc.
Nose: Initially pretty closed, after 15 minutes it started showing intense and deep notes of ripe cherry and plums, cassis, caramel and warm earthy/woody tones. Slightly alcoholic, medium intense but very good. 88 p.
Palate: Initially soft and smooth, on the mid palate high acidity and tannins, finally a decent and silky fruitiness kicks in. Well balanced, long lasting berry finish. Also very good. Medium body. 88-89 p.
This was my first impression, it might change. Did not blow me away like Warwick's Three Cape Ladies (which is also cheaper) but nonetheless a very good wine. Just a little too expensive in my opinion.
