Brick-red colour. The nose shows maturity with leather, wet soil, char, graves mixed with lighet hints of violet and cassis. The palate was medium and showing smooth and soft tannins and a nice body with fruit starting to dry up.
Decanted for two hours before drinking, but kept opening up through the dinner and onwards. I doubt it will get better than this. This bottle kept at perfect cellaring all the time.

The long ageing is shown by the garnet color and the aromas. On the nose we found the typical earthiness of Bordeaux wines together with dry leaves, coffee dregs and green pepper. There is still some fruit, black cherry in particular. It has a good tannic grip on the mouth and the acid is still well perceivable, even though the sharp edges have been rounded up by the ageing. Some olives rise up in the aftertaste. I would have like some more body, it is not thin, but for me there was just something missing.

Garnet with an orange rim. Shy nose, a shadow of a Bordeaux with age. Taste was mostly acids and tannins, the fruit is hiding or has gone home. Is this the type wine that Broadbent laments isn't made any more?? Feh.

Strong evolved leafy notes. Autumnal; Very developed austere flavour. Old style claret at the end of the road - drink up.
