4th Annual Wild Game Dinner (Chateau de le Shane aka Shane's house in New Jersey): Tasted on a whim between courses at Shane's 4th Annual Game Dinner...as a result PnP which I think was ill advised to give this a fair chance. No detailed notes taken, nonetheless this is typical of previous bottles. Always a good QPR for a modern Cali Cab. Fairly oaky and still solidly structured with black fruit and creamy notes.

Upon opening on the nose was and pallet there was an abundance of blueberry notes jumping out of the glass. It was very juicy, jammy, and sweet. Very reminiscent of a Robert Mondavi Woodbridge that was a liitle bit more complex. (At this point I would not give this wine more than 85-86 points) Way too sweet for my liking. A couple hours later this changed to a completely different wine. Deep dark fruit formed in the glass that was complex; with notes of cassis, dark fruit, blueberry, spices, and oak. The sweetness completely blew off, and this turned into an excellent wine with some air. 92+points. I am sorry I did not pick up more of these. Do yourself a favour and decant for an hour+ before drinking. This still has legs to go for a few more years.

Solid as usual...modern Cali Cab style but good with grilled Prime strip steaks. Vanilla/oak heavy but balanced with the ripe rich black fruit and an unctuous mouth feel. Always a good QPR despite not having any really extraordinary aspects.

Solid and fruit forward as usual. Dark garnet with no sign of age on the rim. Nose of dark fruit, vanilla and some tobacco. Similar taste profile. Still a good 5 years from peak I think
