  • Decanted all day. Very dark in the glass almost no legs - the opposite. Slick in the glass. Mute nose. Very faint smells of red fruits and maybe a bit of earth. Elegant but I’m not sure that I would recognize this as Sangiovese. None of the tonic/ acid bite that’s usually there. Good but not great. Not worth the $. Hmmm. I gave it a score of 90 but just barely. No excitement.

  • Slow oxed 2 bottles for a fondu dinner. They were open for about 6 hours then into a decanter for another 2 hours. Beautiful dark ruby color. On the nose there were subttle hints of cinnamon, roses, earth and cloves. soft but ib a really good way. In the mouth the balance was impeccable. Nice dose of cloves and red berries with a hint of barnyard. This was the best two bottles for the 11 so far. Not profound nor will it ever be, but very solid and typical tuscan wine 91+. Not the greatest QPR. I have one more left and in no rush to drink, but this wine is open for business.

  • Opened this am and decanted until 4:30. Off bottle. Not totally corked but a bit sour like it’s starting to turn. This case has been very disappointing, especially compared to any other 2010 that I’ve tried. Not as good as the 2016 Lisini Rosso opened a few nights back. Dumped the bottle. hmmm

  • Brought 3 to a restaraunt for dinner. Slow oxed for 10 hours. A little disappointing. The wine was just ok not anything to write homne about. Typical Brunello but nothing special and at $55 not a good deal. Used to be one om my favorite producers.

  • 2nd bottle today. Decanted this one for several hours before trying. Very similar profile to yesterday’s bottle. Like yesterday a bit out of balance with the acid dominating the experience. Not the fruit packed other ‘10’s that I have been drinking. Actually a bit disappointing as I’ve always had great bottles from this producer before.
