Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru Dinner (Yan, National Gallery, Singapore): Pretty good. This held-up decently well next to 2010 Roumier and Rousseau Ruchottes, which is saying quite a bit. It had a lovely nose of red cherries, earth and then light touches of meat, spice and earth. The palate showed very nicely for something so young, with velvety tannins and fresh acidity racing through fresh flavours of red cherries with touches of earth and a subtle meatiness, all in a beautifully integrated mouthful. Lovely long finish too. Not quite as refined as the other two big-named wines, but this was delicious nonetheless.

Very pretty wine in a very pure style - clean, red-fruited, and almost floral, though I'm not really getting a sense of Grand Cru breed out of this; that extra level of breadth and refinement that you expect from a top site like Ruchottes isn't here. Early on it seemed to be knocking on the door, but unlike many 2010s it didn't really put on any extra layers of depth or density in the glass. A very satisfying wine just the same, but from Ruchottes I want more.

Started off rather mute on the nose and on the palate. Initially very thin on the palate but as the evening progressed the wine gained weight. Still very young with tannins still on the fore front. Good finish with nice earthy flavors. I have great expectations for this wine as it ages as I feel it has the elements to gain in complexity.
