4/4/14 - another pour: nose: Old World smoke and dried raisins, as before, but some sweetness too; taste: medium-bodied mouth feel, bright fruit taste, Old World finish with polished tannins; overall: good-tasting, balanced medium-weight raisiny juice that's lots better than the last time, would pour for casual company paired with a grilled pork tenderloin or burgers
2/28/14 - 82 points - color: dark cranberry x medium-dark purple; nose: oak (a little) and sweaty socks (just a touch); taste: light-to-medium-bodied mouth feel, tight dried-raisin smokey spice taste borders on tangy, medium-length finish accompanied by lingering tannins with a tinge of clove and vegs; overall: restrained, very Old World style, still a little tight -- will the taste open up in a year or two?
