{Cork, 12%} Onion skin colour. Maturing, strawberry flavours, but sour and drying, not sweet. Medium weight, with small bubbles, plenty of acid. Structure is fine here but I'm less convinced about flavours, suspecting poor storage causing premature aging.

Aromas of sea spray, cranberry and mineral. Flavors of toast, cranberry, strawberry and mineral. Ends with a berry and mineral driven finish of 15-20 seconds. Not incredibly complex but keeps your interest and has elegance.

NobleRottersSydney - regional Oz shiraz (Fix, St James, Sydney): {diam, 12%} [Graeme] Noir and Meunier make up 37% and 16% of this and give it its pale salmon-like hue. It smells a little like roses too, strawberries, with a touch of yeast. Pleasant, if well-developed. Sadly, despite persistent and fine creamy bubbles, the palate is dull and muted in flavour. It’s not obviously faulty (perhaps storage was an issue?), but at any rate it finishes very short indeed, despite its initial promise of medium weight, and sits almost entirely on the tip of the tongue as well. Not very impressive.
12.0% abv. Dark pink salmon color. Red fruit nose, some yeasty notes. Bought this wine 4 years ago, drinking fine but as a NV this lacks the bones to go very deep; at or almost past its peak. Frothy bubbles dissipate quickly - no bubbles in glass after 1 hr- finishes soft, a little flabby/one dimensional. Per the label (Canada) this may have been a 93 point wine in 2015 when it was released, but not anymore IMO.

One of three wines we had at a fascinating retreat called The Perching Bar in Verzy. The only bar that I have been to that is actually a tree house; and one that affords a spectacular view northeast from the Montagne de Reims. This champagne not half bad either though I didn't take any notes.
