  • Expressive nose and upfront, somewhat short on the finish.

  • I'm giving this 88 points, unofficially because I may have been too worn out after a long day and other riesling before it.

  • Pure Riesling fruit On the nose, white stone fruit, herbs, flowers and a slightly honeyed note. Fresh, mineral, transparent, but not skinny. Good acidity and length. 90-91+

  • Very expressive, gravelly on the nose, with musky peach, hay, beeswax, and kumquat.
Mineral driven palate with more gravel, dirt and hay, but fleshed out with juicy peach and nectarine. Intriguing musky minerality, almost oily. Lanolin, just shy of petrol. Medium- body, lithe and agile with bright acidity, focused flavors, and slight spritz. Simultaneously lean and rich. More peach with air. Fascinating.

  • Pressed slowly over 8 hours, letting the juice be in some contact with the skins. Fermented in stainless steel and aged for 6 months on the lees. 8 g/l residual sugar.

Intense and concentrated yellow-green color. Rich and expressive nose with aromas of ripe lemony citrus fruits, honeyed richness, some smoky mineral tones, a little bit of peachy stone fruits and a hint of wet stones. The wine is quite big and concentrated for a Riesling on the palate, yet at the same time surprisingly weightless and playful - as opposed to sense of heaviness - with the aid of the racy acidity. There are ripe flavors of juicy citrus fruits, Granny Smith apple, some honey, a little bit of ripe peach, a hint of steely minerality and a touch of residual sugar richness at the tip of the tongue. The wine shows a wonderful combination of ripe, almost concentrated fruit and wonderful, bracing acid structure. The finish is crisp, long and pretty mineral-driven with focused, racy flavors of lemony citrus fruits, steely minerality, key lime, some wet stones, a little bit of honeyed richness, a hint of white peach and good deal of bracing acidity.

A textbook example of a Riesling that is obviously big and ripe, yet retains that hallmark freshness, lightness and intense, tightly-knit structure of the variety. This is a big wine in its own sense, but still retaining wonderful harmony, balance and lean acid backbone. Great stuff already, but obviously built for the long haul, so will be even better in the future. Most likely will continue to develop for years, perhaps even decades. Solid value at 20,10€.
